Rep. Waltz Launches Congressional App Challenge

On Monday, U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz announced the 2019 Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students in Florida’s Sixth District.

“Science and technology touch nearly every aspect of our lives and our children are going to be critical to the future in these areas,” Waltz said. “Florida’s Sixth District is full of innovative and bright young minds and I’m looking forward to seeing their great ideas and entries in this year’s challenge.”

Students have until Nov. 1 to submit entries. Winners will be announced Dec. 9 and will be invited to the #HouseofCode Capitol Hill reception in Washington, D.C.

Winning apps are eligible to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building and featured on the U.S. House of Representatives website.

The 2019 Congressional App Challenge is open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements, regardless of coding experience. Students of all skills are strongly encouraged to participate.
