For Country Caucus Applauds Decision to Extend National Guard Orders

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Friday, the bipartisan For Country Caucus applauded the decision to extend National Guard orders to fight COVID-19. More than 40,000 National Guard members are currently deployed to assist with coronavirus response efforts nationwide. Members of the For Country Caucus requested the extension to help Guard members continue their mission. “America’s National Guardsmen and Guardswomen have been bravely serving and sacrificing for our country as the battle against COVID-19 continues – and it’s important they continue to receive the benefits they’ve earned as their missions are extended,” FCC members said. “We are glad to see this decision made on behalf of our service members.” The For Country Caucus is a bipartisan group of military veterans also serving as Members of Congress. The caucus is focused on military and veterans issues and is chaired by Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) and Don Bacon (R-Neb.). Reps. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.) and Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) serve as vice chairs. |
