Normandy, France – On Sunday, U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) reenacted the Allied Forces’ parachute jump in Normandy, France to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. Waltz was one of hundreds of veterans from around the world who recreated the jump. Around 13,000 men made the same jump in 1944. At the time, it was the largest use of airborne troops in history. “It was an unforgettable experience to make the same jump so many brave men made to defend Europe and the world during World War II,” Waltz said. “I am so thankful for their service and sacrifices and am honored to have paid tribute to them today.” For more photos and video, follow Waltz on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. |
