1st Place Winner Drawing: “A Cry of Despair”

Addyson Weaver
, 10th Grade, T. Dewitt Taylor High School
Teacher: Jillian Larriviere
Description: Upon creating “A Cry of Despair,” I found the graphite should give the audience a feeling of despondency, along with a loss of desire. Over 100 Tigers annually feel desolate, right before they are illegally sold or killed, people put these magnificent creatures in compact enclosures. If the audience is to take one thing from the artwork it’s that you must fight for a voice that cannot be heard.
To be Hung in Rep. Waltz's Washington, D.C. office for one year as the overall 2nd place winner.

Natalia Celallos Meneses, 10th Grade, North Marion High School
