Washington, DC,
June 18, 2019
U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) is seeking a wounded or disabled veteran for a two-year paid fellowship program in his Palm Coast district office location in Flagler County. The selected veteran for the special fellowship will work with military and veteran constituents to handle veteran-related casework and act as a facilitator between constituents and federal, state and local agencies. “Our veterans deserve the strongest commitment to their ongoing care and issues affecting them,” said Rep. Waltz, who currently serves as a Green Beret in the Army National Guard. “I’m proud our district is currently served by two veterans in our office in General Ernie Audino, U.S. Army (Ret.), our District Director and Captain Randy Stapleford, U.S. Navy (Ret.) serving our veteran community. This fellowship program will serve to strengthen this link between our military and veteran constituents and our government to ensure our military men and women have people working hard to help them navigate the government bureaucracy.” The U.S. House of Representatives established the Wounded Warrior Fellowship Program to provide opportunities for wounded and/or disabled veterans to work for Congress. The program is limited to veterans who meet all of the following requirements:
Veterans in receipt of a 20-year or Temporary Early Retirement Authorization (TERA) retirement are not eligible for the program.
