WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) issued the following statement on his intent to vote against the Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions (HEROES) Act: “The coronavirus pandemic has completely upended our country. Take a look at the latest unemployment numbers and you’ll see that Americans need help. Unfortunately, rather than put forth commonsense solutions directly related to COVID-19 recovery, Speaker Pelosi has instead prioritized the whims of the far left, putting in hundreds of millions of dollars of provisions completely unrelated to this pandemic – all without any input from members across the aisle. I cannot in good faith vote for this package while Americans continue to suffer. They need solutions, not wish lists – and we need to work together to find them.” |
